Asking what a website project costs is like asking "How long is a piece of rope?".

Obviously, since some websites are thousands of times larger than others, Jasonsjungle.com rates are according the total number of Kilobytes it takes to create your site.

...which is why we offer FREE ESTIMATES

Why Charging by the Kilobyte Best
This makes the size of your bill most equivalent to the amount of work your site required. In fact, this is also exactly how webhosts charge for webhosting services--by the Kilobyte! In other words, the total amount of server space your website requires. It is the same as charging for apples by the pound, or gas by the gallon, etc.

Why We Don't Charge by the Hour
It doesn't always take the same amount of hours to do the same amount of work.

Example 1: Sally sells jewelry and wants a several unique features on her online-store that take several hours to build. Frank sells auto-parts and wants very similar features on his online-store. It would take fewer hours to build Frank's site because rather than re-inventing the wheel, while building Frank's site, we can avoid pitfalls we encountered making Sally's site, which saves time. Then Frank gets billed less than Sally for practically the same project.

Example 2: Joe's webhost is economical, but stingy on it's file permissions. It takes extra hours to build his site so that it can work around the limitations of his webhost. Brenda has completely different site than Joe but signed up with the same economy webhost as Joe. After doing Joe's site, Brenda's site take less time because we already know the server's limitations from when we built Joe's site. Then Brenda gets billed less than Joe for the same sized project.

Why We Don't Charge by the Page
Pages come in all shapes and sizes. One page can be thousands (yes, thousands) of times more work than the next. Having a flat rate per page (regardless of size) is not really any different than having a flat rate per website.

Second, there are more to websites than just pages, i.e. CGI Scripts, SQL Databases, Javascript functions, images & logos, media, etc.

Third, what is a page? Do you realize that JasonsJungle.com, the website you are looking at right now, is only ONE SINGLE WEBPAGE DOCUMENT? This site may look like it has several pages but all these pages are dynamically generated by the same master template page.

For example, if you have 10,000 products for sale, you might think you need 10,000 pages (one fore each product). Wrong! JasonsJungle.com will put your 10,000 products into a searchable database that you can easily maintain yourself and create just ONE page that can display any single product from your database. On the exterior, you will never know the difference. But maintenance will be 10,000 times easier!

Rates ARE NEGOTIABLE. Again, every customer is has their own needs and their own budget, which is why we offer free consultations.
